DERMAL FILLER TREATMENTS
Dermal filler injections containing Hyaluronic Acid are one of the most widely known treatments in the anti-ageing field.
Their main aim is to help restore volume loss and to help smoothen and fill facial lines that have become etched or that are present at rest (static lines).
They can also be used to contour, reshape, balance the side profile, improve signs of ageing on our hands and augment our lips

Most dermal fillers are composed of Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring molecule found within our skin. Depending on the filler type, this gelatinous substance comes in varying degrees of viscosity and elasticity meaning that depending on your aesthetic concerns and areas to be treated, we can tailor which filler type is injected where. This allows for fine-tuned treatment plans and above all, optimal, safe and natural results.
Because of their gel-like composition, dermal fillers can be used to restore volume in areas such as the cheeks and lips, to achieve a contouring effect in areas such as the jawline or to help improve the appearance of lines in areas such as the nasolabial folds. The hyaluronic acid they contain also has a hydrating effect within the overlying and surrounding tissues.
Dermal fillers can be used in isolation or in combination with a wide range of other rejuvenating treatments, such as anti-wrinkle injections for a harmonious effect.
We carry a premium, safe and evidence-backed range of dermal fillers from leaders in the industry to help address your skin health concerns and enhance your features, all while respecting and preserving your natural anatomy.

You will undergo a thorough consultation in clinic to determine the most suitable treatment regimen for you.
Treatment involves administering the filler through small injections, either using a fine needle or a cannula (blunt metallic tube ideal for contouring larger areas). The dermal fillers we use contain a local anaesthetic and so the treatment gets more comfortable as we progress but to ensure your comfort throughout, the area is pre-treated with a fast-acting local anaesthetic cream.
Patients find that they are then able to then continue their day as normal with no restrictions.
It can take around 4 weeks for the filler to settle into its final, natural result so before that time it is not uncommon for the area to feel a bit firm or mildly bumpy.
If it is your first time receiving dermal filler treatment it is always advisable to start with conservative volumes that respect and enhance your natural anatomy, rather than causing dramatic changes or risking a distortion of your features. It is always more prudent to allow things to settle and then if at around 4-6 weeks you feel like you would like more volume then you can undergo further treatment.

It is recommended that you avoid exercise, excessive straining and alcohol for 24 hours post treatment, as well as avoiding excessive heat or rubbing and pressure to the area for 48hours post treatment. It is also advisable to avoid use of make-up over the puncture sites for a minimum of 6 hours.
The treated areas can be swollen and bruised for the first 3-5 days and so it is recommended that you give adequate time between your treatments and any important social commitments. If you have a tendency to bruise then it is also advisable to apply arnica cream to the area or start taking arnica tablets 2 days prior to your treatment.
Depending on the area treated and your own anatomy and physiology, the effects of treatment may last 9-18 months. As a general guideline we recommend an annual maintenance treatment.
Dermal filler injections are not suitable for anyone under the age of 21 or patients who are breast-feeding or pregnant. We also advise against having the injections while you are actively taking blood thinning medications or following a recent exacerbation of cold sores.
