What Is Lumecca Peak IPL?
Lumecca Peak by InMode is a next-generation Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, delivering up to 3 times more energy than standard IPL devices. This powerful yet comfortable treatment targets pigmentation, vascular lesions and uneven tone to rejuvenate the skin and restore a clearer, brighter complexion, with fewer sessions than traditional IPL.
We’re proud to be one of the first clinics in the UK to offer this advanced platform.
How Does Lumecca Peak Work?
Lumecca Peak delivers broad-spectrum light energy that penetrates the skin to:
Break down excess melanin (for pigmentation)
Collapse superficial blood vessels (for redness and flushing)
Stimulate collagen production (for general skin rejuvenation)
The enhanced "Peak" technology delivers light to multiple skin depths more efficiently, allowing for stronger clinical results with fewer treatments.
What Concerns Can Lumecca Treat?
Lumecca Peak is ideal for patients seeking non-invasive treatment of:
Hyperpigmentation: including sunspots, age spots and freckles
Vascular lesions: such as spider veins, rosacea, facial flushing or broken capillaries
Redness-prone skin: including post-acne redness, active acne or inflammatory flushing
Uneven skin tone and texture
General skin dullness or loss of glow: through its ability to boost collagen
Common treatment areas include the face, neck, décolletage, hands and forearms.
While Lumecca can improve superficial vascularity, leg thread veins respond better to microsclerotherapy and are not the primary indication for IPL.
For isolated clusters of thicker facial thread veins, such as those found on the side of our nose, it may be recommended that you have electrocautery treatment instead. Where cluster vessels and generalised redness co-exist then we may recommend a combination of the two.
More detailed information on facial thread vein treatments can be found here.
What to Expect from Treatment
Consultation and Patch Test:
You will undergo a full medical consultation before proceeding to determine the most suitable treatment regimen for you.
During your first visit we will carry out a patch test (required at least 24 hours in advance) to ensure suitability and optimal safety.
Your consultation fee is fully redeemable against the price of your first treatment session.
On the day:
No anaesthetic is required as it is a very well-tolerated treatment
A cooling gel is applied and protective goggles are worn
The Lumecca device delivers light pulses that feel like a mild elastic snap against the skin
The procedure takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on the area
Immediately after treatment, you may experience some redness and warmth in the treated area: this usually settles within a few hours, though sensitive skin may remain pink for up to 48 hours.
How Many Sessions Are Needed?
Most patients benefit from 2-3 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart
However, as everyone’s skin responds differently, some will see improvement after a single session whereas others may need 3-5 sessions.
Pigmentation often improves more quickly than vascular conditions
Thanks to the enhanced power of Lumecca Peak, many patients see better results in fewer sessions compared to traditional IPL systems
Who Is Not Suitable for Lumecca?
Lumecca is not suitable for darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) due to increased risk of pigmentation changes or burns.
Other contraindications include:
