PLATELET-RICH PLASMA
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy belongs to a category of treatments known as collagen induction therapies.
It is a safe and natural treatment option for those wanting to optimise their skin texture, alleviate the appearance of acne scarring or improve hair growth.

PRP therapy is a well-established treatment modality, used to improve a host of skin conditions and can be used in isolation (in those wanting to avoid other injectable treatments) or in conjunction with other therapies to offer a holistic, multi-modal approach to boosting skin and hair health.
What is appealing to many is the fact that PRP is an extremely natural treatment as what is injected into your skin is derived exclusively from your own body.
PRP therapy isolates the plasma component of your venous blood and this is then injected into the areas requiring treatment. The growth factors contained therein result in a stimulation of the body’s natural healing process, which then leads to improvement in skin elasticity, complexion, fine lines, acne scarring and hair follicle health.
PRP combination therapy with microneedling can be a very powerful means of augmenting and combining the benefits of both of these treatments for maximal effect.
When you book your treatment you have the option of also adding on a microneedling treatment to further maximise your results.

You will undergo a thorough consultation in clinic to determine your skin or hair concerns and the most suitable treatment regimen for you.
A small amount of blood will be withdrawn from your arm (exactly like in a blood test). This is then spun around in a specialised device known as a centrifuge which allows the platelet-rich plasma to be separated from the other blood components.
Using a fine needle and a series of tiny injections the PRP is then gently injected into the area that we aim to treat, thus stimulating collagen production, blood flow to the area, and attracting growth factors and stem cells which all result in a natural skin rejuvenation.
Some stinging may be experienced but overall the treatment is very tolerable. We will however apply numbing cream to the area beforehand for maximal comfort

It is recommended that you avoid exercise or excessive straining for 24 hours post treatment, as well as avoiding excessive heat or rubbing and pressure to the area. It is also advisable to avoid use of make-up over the puncture sites until the next day. It is expected that the area may feel tender and a bit bruised for a few days and treatments of the undereye area may result in some transient puffiness. All these symptoms subside after 4-5 days.
