It uses a blend glutathione (a powerful antioxidant peptide) with 5-acids, vitamin C and other skin-loving ingredients
Even alone, these ingredients are powerful, but in combination, they lead to amazing results for our skin!

How many Perfect Peel sessions will I need?
This will depend on what skin concern you are trying to correct and also the severity of these concerns.
For example, conditions such as acne scarring and hyperpigmentation, especially in chronic cases, will require a minimum of 3-4 sessions approximately 4 weeks apart.
Although the peel can be used as a stand alone treatment, the results can be further boosted and prolonged by then incorporating dedicated Perfect peel active skin care products (which are both prescription and non-prescription).
OK, so what about the actual peeling process… How bad is it?
Although this does somewhat vary between individuals, for most, the peeling process will commence at around the 2nd or 3rd day and tends to finish around day 7. So do factor in this element of social downtime when planning your treatments.
Also do bear in mind that in the first couple of days, before the actual peeling starts you will have redness to the skin.
Once the physical peeling of those top layers of skin is completed however, then The Perfect Peel powerhouse ingredients really get to work on their magic on boosting your skin cells, improving turnover and fading blemishes and pigmentation. Therefore the full peel benefits and results tend to be apparent at around the 4-week mark representing a full skin regeneration cycle. (Do bear in mind that with age our skin regeneration cycle is longer and can take 6 weeks).
It is SUPER important to not pick at or pull at the bits of loose skin (as tempting as this may be). This significantly increases the risk of poor or delayed healing, uneven pigmentation or streaks and post-peel scarring. So it is vital to not pick or try to speed the peeling process along as this will have the opposite effect and impact on your results.
Who is the treatment not suitable for?
Individuals under the age of 18
On open wounds
Over areas of active infection (those with a history of cold sores will be prescribed prophylaxis treatment to reduce the chance of reactivation)
Over areas of suspicious skin lesions - these will need to be diagnosed and treated first
In areas of moderate to severe eczema or psoriasis
In individuals currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy
In individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding
In the presence of an allergy to any of the ingredients or aspirin
In those on active Vitamin A treatment - those on oral Roaccutane will need to have stopped it for 6 months prior to treatment; those on topical retinoids will need to stop them 2 weeks prior to treatment.
How long does an appointment last?
For anyone coming into clinic for their first ever chemical peel with us, you will need to be seen for a consultation first. This is to ensure that you will be receiving the appropriate peel for your particular skin concerns and we can discuss the plan - including downtime, sessions required, need for pre-peel prep in selected cases. (So do make sure you book in as a New Peel patient, even if you have received the peel elsewhere in the past).
Following your consultation appointment, you will then have a treatment appointment. The treatment itself takes around 30 minutes, with the physical peel application taking around 15 minutes. However as with all of our appointments we make sure to make them ample in time to ensure that you never feel rushed or stressed!
There then several post-peel care steps for you to carry out at home, which will complete the treatment and allow optimal healing. Full instructions will be given during your appointments so don’t worry about having to remember things.
Is The Perfect Peel treatment painful?
The Perfect Peel has been described as the most comfortable peel on the market! This is partly because it is self-limiting, and partly because of the ingredient phenol. Phenol has a mild anaesthetic property, which makes each pass of the peel more comfortable.
What is the usual treatment protocol like?
Although this will obviously vary depending on your skin concerns, when commencing on a treatment regime, The Perfect Peel can be applied every 4 weeks if necessary until the desired results are achieved.
Once the initial phase is complete, we recommend a maintenance peel once every 3-4 months to maintain improved skin results, and prevent further aging and environmental damage
And what about prepping the skin beforehand?
No specific preconditioning of the skin is required prior to treatment. We recommend stopping use of Retinol 2 weeks prior to the peel. In addition patients on Roacctuane must stop use after 6 months prior to treatment in order to achieve desired results. However at your consultation appointment we can discuss this in more detail and ensure your skin is ready and optimised for your treatment day!
